Single shot blasters: What's your piece of choice?

Single shots- what's your fav?
In the world of Stampedes and Vulcans, sometimes it's easy to forget about the humble single shot blaster. There are times where it's incredibly satisfying to boast the "one shot one kill" talent (or so I hear because.. I've yet to do this!) and there's definitely a place for them, especially in indoor warfare (easier to conceal when hunting down your opponent in the school library and doesn't get you "shhhhhh'd" by the libararian).

At times one would argue they have a level of accuracy that the larger blasters don't have. Soo.. tell all- what's your favourite single shot?

  1. i do not know why you continue to go on about how crap a shot you are. I know you.. and i do recall a certain sling shot/bb gun incident..

  2. Although the NightFinder seems to be a piece of every Nerf fanatics collection, I love the feel of the Scout IX-3, but in all simplicity I love Maverick REV-6's (If they fall into the category of single shots) I'veplayed with them since I was young and to me there the Tippman of Nerf (In the Pistol Arena).

  3. I personally favor the green Strikefire. More compact than the Element, Nitefinder and Stormfire, holds more spare shots than the Eliminator and Scout, and most uniquely, has the reverse rail clip on top, for attaching to the underside of, say, a Stampede.
The green color is also less likely to attract the attention of the person you're about to shoot :P

  4. In the library warfare situation, I'd prefer the Reflex IX-1, because it's powerful and fairly accurate, but mainly very, very small. In just about every other situation, I prefer my (modded) Nite Finder, because it is very powerful and accurate, and has more dart holders than any other single shot.

  5. Strikefire, better ranges and size

  6. The Reflex IX-1 was the blaster of choice for the office and library due to them being easily concealed and wield. We actually used the old Eliminators to death before they started to wear out and dribble darts; The Reflex was to be the replacement but we only got a week of play out of them before the big cheese declared the workplace a Nerf free zone:P

I am personally prone to the Scout IX-3 mainly because it just looks and feels fantastic and it's accuracy and range are pretty decent for a couch shot:)

  9. @P13c30fch33s3 Actually I think the Element has more dart holders and it's basically a redone version of the Nitefinder (Unless you've modded your NF to hold more ammo by removing the light or something more elaborate).

Personally, since getting the Attack Unit, my favourite single shot would have to be the Reflex. It's accurate, lightweight, and easily carried. Sure... it doesn't have a spare dart holder. But my Alpha Trooper does =D. And the Alpha Trooper has enough magazine capacity to not really need a sidearm anyway (especially since I've stuck a recon stock on it so it can carry another standard clip).

Besides, the ladies love a mini. They think it's cute.

Yes, I have modded my NF to hold more darts. The standard dalt holders have four parts in total, and I removed two and hot glued them to the side, for total of 6 dart storage :D

Personally, I don't really like the Stormfire because for its size, It doesn't have that many holders. Even if it did, the CTF pack doesn't come with enough darts to fill them.

I find that the Strikefire just looks wierd to me, despite being quite compact and having quite a feew holders.

  12. Yeah, I prefer using nite-finders in indoor wars. I have two, both modded. 1 of them can hold 7 darts, the other ar removal. powerful and accurate guns.

Only other gun that i have tried is the Strikefire. It is still a good gun, but i prefer the nite- finder.

  19. Hey Urban Taggers, you should write an article on revolvers!

  20. Some comments on each from a guy with huge hands:
Stormfire is an absolute beast. It just feels so much more menacing, and has a bit more power even than the NF.

Nitefinder > Disk Shot/Switchshot/Element. The NF's larger handle and sturdier plunger rod are 100% worth the slight loss in kick, especially for a modder.

Scout>Strikefire>Reflex. Scout has a bigger handle than Strikefire, and their shared internals have a good deal more power than the minuscule Reflex. But they are all inferior to any of the above, largely owing to the lameness of the reverse plunger.

  21. I'm with doomsday60, delete the air restrictor in an early gen switch shot (stronger spring) and maybe some Buzz Bee Punisher darts. I quote one of my friends: "We don't wear glasses because we're too cool for them, unless (my name) gets his switch shot out, in which case we HIGHLY recommend eyewear."

  22. Quote from Pocket. Esq. "because it just looks and feels fantastic"

  23. stormfire or strikefire

    usually attach strikefire on mav
and 5 darts enough to make your opponent run away

  24. Modded IX-3! It kicks so much! its compact, cool looking, and hands down comfortable

  25. I like the strikefire if I have a larger gun, since you can attach it to the larger gun. If not, I go with my modded Nite Finder. 45+ foot range, three dart holders, and a LED light/laser sight.

Stock, I'd go with the Element.
