Rumours: Strong Arm and... WTF!

This is some pretty cool intel; one of our readers was browsing Tumblr and stumbled across some photos of an actor who apparently does Nerf commercials... the first image, we can identify as the much anticipated N-Strike Elite Strong Arm..

Here's a pic montage of the dude.. but hang on.. have a look at the blaster in the right hand image... Ok let's zoom in..

Oooh.. I'm thinking that's a pump action grip? Whoo hoo it's speculation time!

Cheers Collin for the lead!

  1. Looks like an Elite version of the Barrel Break. The handle kinda gives it away. Although, the grip seems odd, especially for a small blaster.

  2. Def the Ruff Cut-- it has the Barrel Break's hand grip.

  3. My guess would be that that's the Barrel Break equivalent, it has the same handle and it's the only shotgun-like blaster Nerf makes.

  4. Looks like it might be the ruff cut, cant wait for this blaster :)

  5. That is definitely the strife. Nice barrel break handle too! Ammo holders on the front?

    1. No it is actually most likely the ruff cut, the stryfe is going to be a semi auto clip fed blaster like the barricade.

  7. I'm hoping it's pump-action,
Whatever it is, I'm looking forward to it.

  10. I was going to say it looks like the ruff cut but it looks like everyone else figured that out, I am not quite sure based of the lock of quality of the image it looks like it has 4 barrels stacked on top of each other. Do you see that?

    1. actually it appears to be a pump action blaster that has the same rotating cylinder like the swarmfire (looks like it too without the stock)

  11. It looks like it is pump action. In the first uploaded pic it seems like the handle is pulled back, whereas in the second photo the guy holding it has his hand very far forward - hard to tell if the grip itself is all the way at the front, but it *seems* like it.

Also bear in mind this article where the Ruff Cut and the Stryfe were first mentioned:

"Several models to be introduced next fall are nearly finished—namely the Strife, a semiautomatic pistol, and the Ruff Cut, which is only the third blaster ever that’s capable of shooting two darts at the same time. In the Nerf conference room, Jablonski picks up a supposedly functional prototype of the Ruff Cut made of white epoxy resin: “Let’s see if she works.” He points it straight up and fires a couple of darts into the 30-foot-high rafters.

I don't know how the mechanism itself would work, but in theory if it fires two darts at a time, each pump primes the next two darts, thus meaning four shots firing two darts per shot.

  12. The UK price list that was leaked called it the Rough Cut 2x4. Wired called it the Ruff Cut.

I was wondering what 2x4 meant and now we see what looks like 4 barrels on the left side of a central divider. Logic dictates there are 4 more on the other side. Since Wired told us that it can fire more than one dart at a time it would appear that each pair of barrels acts like the Barrel Break and can fire two darts almost simultaneously with a long trigger pull. So 2 at a time, 4 times, pump action. Wicked!

  13. *Choke, Choke* Are you serious?!?!?Well, Well Nerf, guess almost all your Elite products are getting spoilt by leaked photos.

IMO, Ruff Cut seems more interesting than the Strongarm. Pump-action and 8 dart capacity, WOO HOO! But it'll probably be detuned for Australia. :( (Why toy laws, WHY?)

  14. I think this is probably the Ruff Cut. Since the Ruff Cut is the new shotgun, I think this could be it.

  18. The way the front looks on the "ruff cut"... it's almost looks like a hornet remake mixed with a barrel break remake.
