Nerf Mega Centurion unboxing vids: Click Click Bamf | Basic Nerf

Our fellow bloggers in the US have been lucky enough to be sent out the upcoming new Nerf Mega Centurion blaster for review and so far the initial responses have been okay. After the jump are two unboxing videos, one from Click Click Bamf and the other being from Basic Nerf. They're worth watching so take a look:) I've also just added my 2 cents worth on seeing these; is this the blaster you've been waiting on for this year or are there other blasters you're more keen for?

I have to admit this blaster has never really excited me and from watching these vids, it still doesn't. I'm not a fan of really long blasters, and the fact the front barrel is semi permanent once attached is going to make it a pain to carry around and store. I tend to like more versatility and like customising my kit to suit my play and the Centurion really looks like it's made for a single purpose- to be for well planned stand-still long range shots, unlike the Longshot that pretty much has most fans ditching the front gun and using it as a primary blaster (which it would seem you can't do that with this Centurion).  That long tracking priming arm is definitely not made for rapid fire action, so somehow I doubt they'll be making 35 round mega drums or including Slamfire in this mix:P

That being said, this meets so much of what the community wants. Fans have been screaming out for a "sniper" rifle for years and it's the closest thing to that to date, right down to it being as long and unwieldy:P  It does have some pretty impressive ranges that surpass anything stock to date in the foam dart world and I'll assume it's accurate enough to serve as a decent sniper rifle for those who want it. I think it looks like it'll be the goods, but jury's still out till I try it out for myself.

  1. If I didn't know better, from watching that video, it would make me think that he has never seen a nerf gun before....

    1. Where are you getting this from? I find it highly unlikely since Hasbro has converted all reverse plunger blasters into direct plunger units with the inception of the Elite series, it would be a big backwards step to revert to an otherwise unnecessary and impractical plunger system.
