Barricade RV-10 in new "Gear Up" finish. Pics courtesy of Action Figure News |
We got some intel from Action Figure Times from the much anticipated TIA Toy Fair in New York. Remember how the big thing last year as the 'Clear the way" campaign, were Nerf brought several blasters out in a clear scheme? Well somehow the new promotion 'Gear Up' for the 'Top Secret' Vortex Collection translates to a black band over the blaster AND the darts.

Below are the boxes for the new "Gear Up" blasters. You'll notice the Raider is in a new colour scheme which does look very niiiice;) (it looks red in this pic, which would be sweeeet, but it might just be the yellow)
Packaging for the new Gear Up blasters. Stripey:) |
Other things we haven't featured already on Urban Taggers are the new line of tee shirts.. interesting concept breaking into the fashion market, but I would assume they're going to sell pretty well with Nerf affectionatos..

Check out more images at Action Figure News. Thanks to Carl from the Dart Tag Australia crew for the intel!
I think they ARE orange, and the blaster they are clearing the way for is not going to be as awesome as the stampede.
ReplyDeleteanything on the vantage sword?
ReplyDeleteDont you mean 'gearing up' for? So it looks like all of the new gear up blasters come with 6 striped darts.... for what exactly? Maybe a big berserker-like gun with a clear rotating barrel so you can see the striped darts that you put in... The raider appears to be orange w/ black stripes AND red highlights at the front.... awesome... Sigh. No signs of a new alpha trooper. :( However, whatever this vortex thing is all about, hopefully it is something unique and automatic... I am thinking stampede-like in design BUT with a top loading universal hopper so you can drop darts in on the fly... get it? The vortex sucks all of the spiral darts you find on the ground into the new blaster!
ReplyDeleteso with this new Vortex collection coming 9.10.11, will that be a successor to the N-Strike series, or will they co-exist? And wonder how it will be like, will it be of original designs like Dart Tag, or more based on realistic designs, like the N-Strike, or maybe a little bit of both? Either way, i will probably buy some of the blasters of that collection. And that Gear-Up Raider is very nice, may have to buy it
ReplyDeletehope it's a
ReplyDeletegrenade launcher
or
shotgun
or
longstrike not becoming for sale which means LONGSHOT AGAIN
or
super machine gun with 500 yeah five hundred dart capacity in vulcan style belts
SHAME ON YOU NERF. REPAINTING GUNS? MAKE SOMETING NEW
ReplyDeleteI guess they introduced to many new models in 2010. There gonna let them simmer and sell for a while. Bummer I was hoping for at least one new model.
ReplyDeleteVortex might be N Strikes enemy like n strike vs enemy hopefully and the vendetta sword = Awesome and hopefully a grenade or grenade launcher or shotgun. The raider striped is awesome
ReplyDeleteFrom SG Nerf (they had an excerpt from a press release): "And, to round out a full year of new introductions, the NERF brand is inviting fans to “Gear Up for 9.10.11” when it will introduce the NERF VORTEX collection, a completely new and innovative blaster experience." (Thank you SG Nerf for this information)!
ReplyDeleteSGNerf weren't the first or only blog to feature this press release, it was available all over (I'm pretty sure even UT posted it on the weekend already). Old news is old news
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I only bought one Raider. I wanted another but now I can get one in yellow too
ReplyDeleteThat Vendetta sword looks awesome... especially if it can be used both as two seperate swords and the big sword-staff.
ReplyDeleteThe "Gear Up" pattern is supposed to be a promotion for the upcoming "Vortex collection". Collection! Not a single gun! When the Clear Series came out, it was specifically noted from the beginning as a promotion for the Stampede. Here it is not stated as one gun, but a collection. I think many of you are being confused by the Comparison to the Stampede. I wonder, though... Whatever this is, I hope it, as a new technology, does not end up replacing N-Strike. And don't be hating SG Nerf! He and Pocket are my only two sources of Nerf info, for the express reason of being the two best!
ReplyDelete-Bluefire
DEATH MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe only blaster I want Nerf to make is an RPG-like blaster that shoots nerf footballs. It's probably not going to ever happen, but one can wish. =]
ReplyDeleteerm... nerf titan bro..
