I absolutely love Nerfenstein's work; in a very short period of time she's really made a name for herself as a very talented creative prop designer with a very keen eye for detail and some very innovative pieces. Recently she got word that I am a big fan of the Knicks, but mainly Jeremy Lin, so I was absolutely stoked when I received this very cool and quirky art/sport/blaster mash-up in the mail the other day. The most rewarding thing about Urban Taggers is the relationships we've formed with the toy blaster community and it was just a really really nice surprise to get something so cool that's just for me:D Thanks again Nerfenstein, you do indeed rock:D
More pics after the jump.

ReplyDeleteYES!
ReplyDeleteI thought I'd answer "why?"
ReplyDeleteSimple.. because sometimes it's nice to do something nice for another person, particularly is said person is having a rough week / month.
Thanks to everyone else for the positivity xx
And it definitely came at a good time, and I was very chuffed with it, thank you again:D
DeleteOne of the things about Nerfenstein that sets her apart from others is the unique way of looking at design.
ReplyDeleteMost Nerf aesthetic mods (and by no means am I criticising, they look awesome) follow a similar pattern, which is to make a blaster look 1)realistic or to 2) resemble a gun that's featured in a movie or video game.
Nerfenstein has proven time and time again she's more than capable of doing that too- her work is exceptional but what I like about the work is she dares to try different things, bringing in other elements of pop culture that many of us don't see or realise- and does a great job with them. You can also see the progression of her work getting better and better- I'll be the first to admit I was a critic from the start (big loyal Johnson Arms fan) but Nerfenstein's work has won me over and proven I can appreciate multiple artists' work:D
In any case, it came at a dark time and made me smile, which was the intent, and I appreciated it immensely. Why? That's why:D
That is the coolest nerf mod ever!
