Nerf Vortex Revonix 360: Will you?

What are your thoughts on Nerf's upcoming new Vortex blaster? The Revonix 360 features slam fire, further distances and a novel loading system, but would it be good enough to topple the all awesome Pyragon as the Vortex blaster of choice?

  1. Both are awesome blasters, kind of a flip up like the Nitron and Praxis. I think they both have a place in a battle, and definitely in any fans collection.

Pyragon might have the slight edge with the extra 10 disc capacity

  2. Absolutely. Reloading on the fly I've always found far more useful in an actual Nerf war than simply having a huge dart (or disk) capacity. In this case, it's even better to be able to have one in the chamber as you reload.

    1. Agreed; the only exception to that I can think of is the Vulcan when used as a mobile blaster, since even just putting in a new belt takes so much time to do.

  3. I loves me Pyragon, but Revonix may be an alternative. Got to see it and play it before I decide though.

  4. Is there any info on dart capacity?

    1. It holds 30 discs, and since I never got my hands on Pyragon, I'm pretty interested in the Revonix. However, with the new elite series and the Centurion leak, I might have other things to look into.

  5. Its seems great, but no magazine may be a slight disadvantage.

  6. Looks awesome, probably functions great, definitely considering it. I'll wait for it to hit stores and some reviews to come up first, though.

  7. Pretty stoked to try out the Revonix. Pyragon Looks beast, but loading time is a big factor!

  8. [Alex] I've actually already sold my Pyragon and Nitron in preparation for getting a Revonix.

I've had a bit of a love-hate relationship with Vortex. As much as I enjoy using them (especially for indoor wars), I think (for me) by the time I fiddle around juggling with two different clip/magazine ammo systems between N-Strike and Vortex, I simply end up choosing an N-Strike blaster that is more convenient.

I'd rather have the N-Strike setup for clips, and have a Vortex blaster that is easily reloaded on the fly, but can hold a large enough ammo capacity to keep the fight up, which now the Revonix fills that goal perfectly. (Again; particularly for indoor wars where ammo is ALWAYS on the ground and nearby.)

For these reasons it's why I've become quite fond of the Rough Cut and probably will be the same story with the Revonix. I also simply like the idea of an internal drum system rather than the Vigilon / Diatron built-in magazine. Big plus that it boasts great ranges and still looks boss like the Pyragon too :P

    1. I agree with this logic for finding ammo on the run while indoors. I do wish all the blasters would be the pyragon, diatron color scheme not the flames and weird color changing.

  9. Dear Hasbro/NERF, PICK A COLOR SCHEME FOR VORTEX AND STICK WITH IT, FIRST GREEN, THEN LIME GREEN, THEN WHITE, NOW A DIFFERENT CONFIGURATION OF WHITE WITH FLAME DECALS AND SUCH, MAKE UP YOUR MIND, N-Strike elite has not diverged form its blue color scheme since it started, so pick a color and stick with it the only way I will accepte the change in color is if its the NEW STANDARD vortex color scheme, in which case DONT DIVERGE FROM IT EVER, or a sub series, like the gear up or sinic, in that case PLEASE RELEASE THE PROTON, VIGILON, PRAXIS, AND NITRON, IN THE PYRAGON/DIATRONS, ORIGINAL COLOR SCHEME, BECAUSE IM SURE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO COLLECTS VORTEX THAT IS DISSAPOINTED AND OR MAD ABOUT THE CONSTANT CHANGEING OF THE VORTEX COLOR SCHEME, BECAUSE I WANT ALL MY BLASTERS TO MATCH AND AM ONLY GOING TO REBUY THEM ONCE TO DO SO. to sumarize pick a color scheme for vortex and stick with it because this is rediculose, please reply if you agree future commenters.

  10. Will itt jam? My pyragon is pretty reliable jamming only about once per 100 disks shot. With the Revonix, I here that the disks are stored vertically...hmmm. If it jams, really not good if you are in the middle of a fight. and I'm sorry but the flames? Really? I do not want to hold a blaster that looks like a hotwheels car.

    Pyragon 4EVER

  11. The revonix looks pretty tough. And the superior distance really catches my eye, the flame decoy isn't really attractive. Reminds me of hot wheels as you speak of it. I'm definitely going to get one and spray paint it.
