Nerf Jolt: Elite colours.. sans Elite performance

So much buzz over these lil "noisy crickets"- the Jolt was the blaster that came out of nowhere and very quickly captured the hearts of Nerfers all over with their direct plunger-in-the-palm-of-your-hand design and impressive performances for such a cheap and small lil thing. When the Elite series was announced, a few pics surfaced to suggest the Jolt would get the Elite treatment; then there was the confusing release of the Triad EX-3 which followed very similar design aesthetics albeit a 3 round shooter.

Well, yes, the iddy biddy Jolt HAS been given a BIT of a workover with its aesthetics, but it's still considered to be an N-Strike blaster both with it's branding/badge and performances. Sure it's got the blue and orange and white colour schemes, an updated muzzle and hell even a grey trigger (WTF?) but as far as performances go, it's the same as the orange Jolts we know already. Not much else I can really say about them, but several more pics after the jump:)

Even though they are still branded a 'N-Strike' blaster, the new Jolt does come with two Elite darts. (A side note is it scans in as an "Elite Jolt" where I purchased it at Big W). Packaging is also a lil more fancy than the original Jolt.

Other than the colour scheme, the only real difference between the updated Jolt and it's original brother is the muzzle tip.

Priming, form design and performances are identical to the orginal Jolt. Still packs a punch for something so small. Not quite 'Elite' orange trigger standard though, although it does have a grey trigger:)

They're selling for around 5 bucks at Big W- Jolts are always worth getting- I have several:) They're definitely the casual office war blaster of choice!

  2. The really odd thing is that while it has the N-Strike logo on the blaster and its packaging, it is listed on the Nerf web site as an N-Strike Elite blaster. http://www.hasbro.com/nerf/en_US/shop/browse/Nerf/Elite/_/N-1rZgtZu9/Ne-2l

  3. I have one of the orange trigger versions, and there has been a lot of dispute about the ranges, and I figured out why:
When I did my range tests I accidentally fired the jolt at a slight angle. This is probably due to the fact that the iron sight on the elite jolt is covered by the new orange piece, so I wasn't holding it level. This change resulted in an outcome that told me that the new jolt was just under the elite ranges, and when modified it hit elite ranges. In reality it hits about the same ranges as the original jolt. I would now like to apologize for this major gaffe on my part, and I hope that this resolves the dispute on the ranges.

  5. Pouty, welli don't care about the spring, simply because I always change them out. I was hoping for the direct plunger the Triad had in single shot. If they were smart that's what they would have done.

  6. Hmmm... The longer barrel, is that due to longer Elite darts?

  8. The orange part on the end of the barrel is there because there is a law in the US that all toy guns must have an bright orange barrel tip so law enforcement can easily distinguish them from real guns. That's why every Nerf gun is orange at the end of the barrel. The original Jolt was already completely orange and didn't need it.

  10. Hi UT can you investigate the differences between the orange trigger versions and the Australian grey trigger ones? If they're both under elite ranges then I don't quite get why nerf still has made two different versions. Cheers
