Well slap me down next time I prematurely am sceptical of a rumour in the Nerf world, because all that talk of an Elite Alpha Trooper a few weeks ago has now been all but confirmed by UK retailer Argos in their catalogue.
From the pic it looks like they'll be replacing the 18 round drum with a 12 round clip, but otherwise everything else looks pretty much Alpha Trooper goodness.. only with an Elite makeover:)
The catalogue also has a pic of what looks like another single shot with a similar priming mechanism to the Jolt/Triad. What's interesting though is it looks like its provided with a target and the darts stick to it (and given its pictured next to a Sharp Shot) suggests its part of the Dart Tag line. New colours for Dart Tag? Same darts or updated darts do you think?
Cheers Ray for the heads up and UK Nerf for the intel.
UK Nerf: Elite Alpha Trooper - It's Real!:
i'm first to post
ReplyDeleteand... this sounds awesome!
the rampage is my primary weapon of choice currently but only because of its ranges.
I love my alpha trooper because of its smooth cocking mechanism but the ranges are not that good.
all i' going to do is replace the 12 dart clip with my 18 dart drum mag.
Elite Alpha Trooper,(EAT, lol)man its hard to keep supporting Vortex line with all the Elite goodness around.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me, or does the 'Dart Tag' Jolt thingo have TWO barrels.
It's just you. It does have two sideways slots above the barrel near the tip, however.
DeleteIt's good to see hasbro coming out with elite versions of all the old blasters & throwing some new ones in the mix but the top rails are looking pretty naked. They really need to do a general release on the pinpoit sight & create/realease other rail options.
ReplyDeletePatiently awaiting an elite Longstrike... I hope they make another scope attachment like the longshots, because the longstrike with a longshot scope just looks tough. If we can get ranges to go with it, that would be fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI'd say being proven "wrong" in this instance isn't a bad thing. The Alpha Trooper is one of my all-time Nerf favorites. I think it'll knock the socks off the Rampage too. Take a read> http://bazookafied.blogspot.com/2013/01/elite-alpha-trooper-see-ya-rampage.html
ReplyDeleteThe other gun is a "Stinger". http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9115831.htm
ReplyDeleteNote the "Only at Argos" label under the barrel... Looks like this is going to be a store-exclusive blaster exactly how the original was.
ReplyDeleteare we going to see a elite longstrike so we don't have to pay excessive prices for the xplorer longstrike mod kits.
ReplyDeleteawesome man! i thought alpha trooper will not upgraded tp elite, now i saw this post, and it's made me surprise!XD
ReplyDeleteThe Stinger popped up at argos.

It should come with the elite red dot sight
ReplyDeleteThe Alpha Trooper was the second Nerf blaster I bought and by far my favourite prior to the release of the Elite lineup. Now I prefer the front pistol grip of the Rampage and Pyragon over the shotgun style of the Alpha Trooper.
ReplyDeleteIf the Elite Alpha Trooper does indeed ship with a 12-round clip magazine I won't be getting one. I think the 18-round drum magazine that shipped with the original AT is the best dart mag Nerf has ever made. It's very compact and noticeably lighter than the 25-round drum yet doesn't give up much in capacity (it's really a 19-round drum and you can squeeze in 20 darts). It's definitely my first choice to hang off the side of a Rampage.
I think Nerf should consider selling stocks as an accessory in addition to things like the pinpoint sight.
I agree totaly with the idea of Hasbro realeasing/making some stocks & rail accesories. I'm likeing what they are doing with the elite line but as of right now the accesories are deffenitly lacking. All we haveat the moment to use are the accessories that come with the Retaliator & no top rail accesories. Even if all they did was rerealease the N Strike accessories that would be a step in the right direction.
DeleteYeah, the lack of sights is quite strange, but presumably when they (finally) make an Elite blaster in a sniper rifle form (like the LS or LS =P)it'll have a scope/sights of some kind.
DeleteAnd there's also the Stockade stock, which holds 10 darts. Probably the best elite attachment so far.
I'm definitely not a fan of the way they ran the white elite line on this one.
ReplyDeleteI think nerf should make an elite mini gun called Cerberus Ebf-100.
ReplyDeleteWhat Nerf needed to do was release the Elite AT with the 25 round drum and slap a stock on it. I'd pay $35 for that baby.
ReplyDeleteSo when IS the Elite Alpha Trooper coming out? I'm thinking about getting it with a additional 18-dart clip. And does this gun come with a good range compared to Rampage?
ReplyDeleteFINALLY i've received the elite trooper it appears to have been shipped out to all stores last night/ this morning
