Consider it launched- at least to the media anyway:) Nerf's N-Strike Elite launch party had bootloads of journos and bloggers in the US coming out to check out the gear we've all been talking about for the past few months. Check out TechCrunch below for more info and images.

  1. they say that the hail fire shoots farther than the rampage, 1st this is complete BS. The hail fire uses 4 AA batteries so the same as the rayven, now i don't know about everyone but my jolt fires further than my rayven. how can this thing shoot farther or even claim to shoot up to 75 ft??? what are they just saying now every blaster can shoot up to 75 ft, it just depends on how far you angle it up???? I fill like none of these people are actually saying anything they think and say what nerf tells them. " hey nerf how far does it shoot" "75ft" "ok i didn't it shot that far but if they said it it must be true" does anyone else feel as confused and agitated as me?

    1. Anything with more barrel or slamfire is going to get slightly lower ranges than blasters with less barrel or no slamfire, it's a simple fact of how Nerf blasters work. The improvements seem to be mainly in the new darts; the non-elite clips appear to be identical, and the barrel fit on some of the stock blasters seems to be designed around a slightly larger dart, such as the Longshot's slightly loose barrel fit, or that of the Barricade's turret. And the performance of the Rayven being lower than that of the Hailfire is likely a difference in design; the Rayven supposedly has weaker motors in it than the Barricade, despite taking an additional battery, so it's likely that the Hailfire has better motors in it than either the Rayven or the Barricade.

    2. well my rayven is one of my furthest shooting guns, even with a barrel attachment, so a hailfire doing better than the rampage doesnt seem too far fetched to me

    3. If the motors are more powerful, would they work/fit in a Rayven?
