Our pal PsyK in Singapore has gotten his hands on the much anticipated Nerf N-Strike Rough Cut 4x2; check out his detailed review including the internals after the jump. Pretty sweeeeeeeet:D

  1. I knew it would have the same air restrictor system as the triad!

  2. The Roughcut looks liek the Hornet As-6 and the Barrel break IX-2 had a baby, and its neat how this is a blaster that wont work at all without the AR system, I must know more about the maechanics, cuz it seems like a very smart desighn , egxample will fire bith barrels upon diagonal axis as long as barrel above is empty, I desire to know how it chooses the loaded barrel to fire, when the ones above it are empty. ( how does air system choose not to feed certain barrels even if they are loaded and ready as well

    1. he explained how in the video. if a barrel above one is loaded it blocks the lower barrels.

  3. The pumping sounds very smooth. Can't wait for them to show up in Canada!

    1. The pumping really is very smooth.
However, the downside is that this pump leaves scratch marks on the blaster shell, which is a tad unfortunate.

    2. I suppose a person could put some sort of pad to prevent scratching...

I dont know about you guys, but I can see a PT replacement for this blaster...

  4. You're probably able to slightly "de-restrict" this blaster. As far as I can tell, it's the vertical side walls of the AR's that block the airflow. So if you were to drill horizontal holes through the ARs, but not taking them out or destroying them as we're used you can probably get better performance. Might require removal of the dart peg.

  5. That is AMAZING. When I first saw the pictures, I imagined that it would cycle from top to bottom, then back, in a fixed pattern, but no. Instead they have this awesome innovation, that lets you load any barrels, and always fire 2 darts at a time. Plus slamfire.
HOLY CRAP WHY DIDN'T YOU RELEASE THIS FIRST HASBRO???

    1. Do you mean why did they not release this blaster as a part of the first few elite blasters? or are you saying they should have released this instead of the barrel break?

  6. If his theory is true (the one with the air restrictors activating where the air goes) then the bottom barrels should fire darts weaker than the top barrels

    1. Nerf put holes in the top barrels (two in the very top pair, one in the second highest pair); this reduces their range and presumably makes the performance roughly equal for all barrels.

This wasn't in the above video because PsyK didn't open the front part of the blaster. Coop772 did, using boiling water, and you can see him sealing the holes with tape in his RC mod video.
