Praxis, Nitron scope and clip, sans stock. Soo tuff. |
For me- it's the Praxis. I like the way it looks- I like the form factor and aesthetics; I like the pump action mechanism and the way it feels in hand. It's also a decent performer and in my opinion it stands tall even amongst all other great blasters. Although it's got the ability to take on N-Strike attachments, the green colour makes it difficult to like it with them on, but that's ok because personally, it looks awesome with the Nitron scope and sans stock (and the Nitron larger capacity clip makes it look soo tuff)...
Sooo.. Your turn?:)
Praxis and Vigilon definitely. Loving the distance they shoot but not too keen on the way the discs glides though. I still think dart guns rocks with the projectile speed. With some modding you can also hit the 60 feet that the Vortex is hitting consistently.
ReplyDeleteSame as yours mate :D got it today at a toy fair, price is RM99.90 (standard price for my country)
ReplyDeletesame. they look sooooo badass
ReplyDeleteGotta say I'm lovin' my Praxis. As someone who isn't a heavy modder the stock distances these things get are great, and they remain accurate for a pretty solid amount of that distance. The discs do carry quite a bit more, especially on a windy fall day, but having thrown a ton of frisbees it's starting to get easier to read the flight path.
ReplyDeleteSame. So far the modding capability of these spring-powered Vortex is limited to lock removal and spring relocation. NStrike has been around longer, with modification and stefans, the darts fly faster, more accurate and just as far in range.
ReplyDeletego praxis
ReplyDeleteI finally got to pick up the Vigilon today. I only planned to buy this one, but recently I been hearing about how awsome the Praxis is. However, the recent rash of "my clip falls out" comments has me a little hesitant to buy one. I will wait and see what happens. Play with the Vigilon for a while and see if I really even like the new blasters. So for the only thing I don't really care for is the color scheme. Too much orange/red on the vigilon. This may be my first custom painted blaster.
ReplyDeleteI love the feel and build of the Praxis thus far. It's solid yet simple. The clip's capability to just pop out at the flick of a switch is very welcome, the handle size is excellent, and the stock feels wonderful. Nerf really went all out on it. Of note when I was playing with it; something that the disc's offer to the field is a far better use for the N-strike scopes; the disc's tendency to stay level in no wind for a significant period of time amazingly give the scopes near pinpoint targeting accuracy. Sniping through a scope really does work now.
ReplyDeleteI have a Proton and a Vigilon, I'm going to get the Praxis soon and I like the ranges that the discs get.I think that the debate over N Strike or Vortex comes down to weather you like the discs or not.
ReplyDeleteI like that you can bounce the discs off walls and effectively shoot around corners. Very fun.
I've finished my Vortex collection now and my favorite so far is still the Praxis, but that Vigilon has me surprised. I'm actually planning a true Vortex vs N-Strike indoor game for next weekend. We'll see if the range of the XLR is enough to keep those darts at bay.
ReplyDeleteI Love the Praxis. IT IS SICK!!!!!!!!! I bought one for myself and I love it. I'm going to have a war with my friends next weekend.
ReplyDeletePraxis all the way
ReplyDeleteallthough vortex have pretty crap accuracy. 2 meters and i still missed.
Got my praxis on the release but every time i fired it the cluip kept dropping out. so I took it back to target and got another one. works fine now.
I also noticed that it shoots further when kept perfectly perpendicular to the ground
Thanks mate
Samza
nitron is extremely accurate and has a decent rate of fire(not as fast as stampede) while its range is a little shorter than the praxis it makes up for it with better straight line shooting IMHO, however the discs will curve a bit when lobbing shots for greater range
ReplyDeleteIn response to Joel, I have a Praxis, and the clip doesn't fall out on its own, but I have accidentally flipped the clip release a couple times when trying to load. I think it's mostly because I have a really weird grip style, but it's generally a great weapon, though without a stock it's hard to hit a whole lot.
ReplyDeleteIs your praxis accurate? cos mine sometimes curves and droops down a fair bit while other times it shoots dead straight.
ReplyDeleteI think they should make a Vortex version of the Longshot. That would be jaw-droppingly awesome...
ReplyDeleteI actually just finished modding my Praxis today. I did a simple spring relocation, added a nitron scope and the raider stock, and gave it a killer paint job. Verdict?
ReplyDeleteThe Praxis has to be one of my favorite Nerf guns ever, of all time. Love the look, the feel, and the performance. Modded, this thing easily gets 85-100 ft. range. Accuracy is decent, but it tends to aim to the right in close quarters. My only complaint is the wretched stock that came with the blaster. It's like a new incarnation of the dreaded Recon stock.
Anyway, great gun! Beats the Recon (its closest N-strike counterpart) ten out of ten!
Pyragon, than Praxis, than the vigilon. However, the clips in my praxis have started to fall out every once in a while and it immediately drops the new pyragon 40 clip. The pyragon is badass. It feels more durable than the rest of the vortex line, can slam fire, and is alot less bulky than I thought it would be considering its massive drum capacity.
