Hasbro Press Release: N-Strike Elite confirmed

Well, we posted it a few days ago and.. it's official now- N-Strike Elite EXISTS. Extracted from the Hasbro press release also indicates room for a new Elite blaster in the midst for the 9-9 traditional launch date:

"In 2012, NERF fans will experience a revolutionary new high-performance class of NERF N-STRIKE blasters to collect and carry into battle. Taking the powerful technology featured in the popular N-STRIKE line to the next level, the innovative N-STRIKE ELITE line gives NERF NATION the extreme performance it craves. The standout N-STRIKE ELITE blasters will officially launch on 8.1.12, with the most impressive blaster in the collection hitting shelves on 9.9.12

"While fans will have to stay tuned for more details about the N-STRIKE ELITE line, the brand will also be introducing new VORTEX disc blasters, NERF SUPER SOAKER water blasters and more. Continuing the "NERF or Nothin'!" fun, the brand brings fans a completely new way to play with its sports gear in 2012 with the introduction of FIREVISION technology, an innovative enhancement featured in the debut FIREVISION SPORTS collection which allows for play in both daytime and dusk. Only those wearing NERF FIREVISION FRAMES eyewear will be able to see the action with NERF FIREVISION SPORTS Football and additional FIREVISION sports items once the lights go down."

Given the two we listed look like revamps of the Raider and Recon, I'm going to suggest neither are the "most impressive" blasters in the Elite line.

    1. I can't even imagine the ranges that these would get with orange mod works kits.

  4. Can't wait, ya know just when I was thinking 'oh maybe I'm too old for nerf ' they go and do this now I'm freakin out!!!

  5. You're never too old for Nerf, don't be silly. :)

It looks like its gonna be a fun year. Honestly, I'm really hoping that were gonna see some new rifle-class Super Soakers that go back to using air pressure or CPS tech.

What I do know for sure is that I'm really running out of room in my boxes...

  7. Does anybody else think that the impressive blater is gonna be a "stampede-ish" gun or maybe a longshot or something like that? Really can't wait for Vortex and mainly the Super Soakers!

  8. This is awesome. Although now it means I'll have to dump all my money on the current N-Strike guns before they're discontinued.

However, I really think that Vortex and Super Soaker should stay within their own toy lines. They aren't dart-firing blasters and thus shouldn't be named under the N-Strike line. Not that this is an important issue, it just bugs me.

  9. I kinda figured that the elite series would be like the gear up and clear series'. it seems kinda strange that the light it up series and elite series are bein g released in the same year. usually nerf only unvieles one series at a time.....

    1. New Dart Tag and Vortex last year.

  10. Probably the Longshot... They took it out of production recently (I think) and Nerf just can't let it die. That or the Stampede.

  12. ^ yeah. I'm guessing it will be a battery powered automatic blaster.

  13. If it's battery powered, I won't buy it unless it can also be primed manually. Anyway, I'm hoping NERF brings back the longshot. Maybe it will even get 80-85 feet, since it's modeled after a sniper rifle.

  15. Now my only question is if N-Strike will be discontinued to make space on shelves for N-Strike Elite... let's hope not.

  16. I had a thought (I did NOT hurt). Perhaps they have some interesting barrel tech in these Elite blasters.

As I said in a previous post, I doubt Nerf will be upping the ammo speed and power to the point of taking someone's eye out.

So that means more efficient internals. Maybe the new darts are more consistant in their dimensions and the barrel has some real rifling. Also if the barrel is low friction, but still a snug fit, the exit velocity would increase.

    Sounds like fun!

Also, does anyone know if the current ammo will start being hard to find? I'm thinking I should start hording ammo.

  17. LONGSHOT!!!!!! A new votex blaster would b awesome as well

  18. I wonder if the ammo might be backwards compatible...

  19. Tactical Tag said the 9-9-12 gun is called the "Hail Fire" and it is a semi automatic gun with a 48 dart drum. Im disappointed because I at least wanted a full auto or a sniper. At least some people with strong finger can fire darts about as fast as full auto guns. Still excited though!

  20. Maybe it could be a Longshot, or who ever though this: A super VULCAN. O_O.
Imagine what the LStrike revamp may look like...
    And the LS one.

  21. So walmart should have them out in July? walmart always messes up the release date. like how they had the vortex out a month and a half before nerf planed.

  22. The recon 2.0 looks pretty beast I think i'll get that one

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wait, semi-automatic? Not fully automatic? If Nerf wants something to "hail fire" from the skys, it should at least be like a real machine gun.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I really don't see the point at why Nerf have to keep making their guns bigger and better. Yeah it's cool that the N-strike Elite series is real but I don't think that anyone here wants to cash in another 50 bucks to buy the same old blaster except with over exagerated ranges. The blue camo isn't worth it either.

  25. will u be making more nerf elite guns
