"The standout N-STRIKE ELITE blasters will officially launch on 8.1.12, with the most impressive blaster in the collection hitting shelves on 9.9.12."
It looks like there's a good chance the new most impressive blaster WILL be called the "Hail Fire" as confirmed on German blaster forum Blasted.de.
Believe da hype yo. :D

One of the silhouettes appears to be holding a vulcan. Or is that just me? It sure looks like the vulcan posture.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that it will obviously be a drum. I am hoping though that it is the "big balls" drum.
ReplyDeletewell, i am pretty sure something named hail fire is automatic for sure, unless it is some type of rocket blaster, which i doubt it is.
ReplyDeleteRhetorical question: how the hell can you make a 40 disc magazine??? According to a poster on the German forum, it's happening. You can't really have much in the way of a drum magazine, and a belt would not work. Maybe they make the magazine feed like a G11 or P90: the magazine is fed horizontally and the projectiles are rotated 90 degrees. I think that they may have worked out the kinks in the super drum for the fabled Stampede ECS-50, but I really hope that semi-auto does not mean flywheel. Maybe they could have some sort of air compressor to automatically re-cock the blaster after every shot, similar to a gas-operated firearm. Flywheels would be disappointing, seeing as nobody really bought the Nitron; they went more for the Praxis and Vigilon. I also agree with one of the guys in that thread: Nerf's marketing is turning viral. I'm not a huge fan of that personally, what with all the teasing "hey guyz we're making new nerf guns and we're not gonna tell u anything about them!!!11". I'd rather have some information and pictures here and now, but I'm gonna guess that a certain Australian blog gets their hands on some of these in mid-June at the latest.
ReplyDeletethey are just getting us pumped up. they have us straining for new info so much that we will all buy it when it finally comes out. and by the way, on nerf's official website, they say the hailfire is one of the new blasters.
DeleteHow do you get a 40 disc drum? One word: ALIENS!.....muahahahahah!
DeleteI think its a rotating drum of disc clips
DeleteDAMN IT! Why are Nerf constantly making their guns bigger and better! We're all happy with the way that they were. They're going to rebuild every damn nerf blaster bigger and better so people can just buy their products more and it's a pain in the ass when you have so many nerf guns and hate to have to buy the same thing except slightly different twice!
ReplyDeleteI hope the "Hail Fire" isn't just the vulcan with the balls drum, though that would be pretty sweet, I kinda want a totally new blaster.
ReplyDeletedrum clip + vulcan = wut?
Deletethe big question will be the price point. i don't know it it's just me but i think Hasbro has noticed the recent boom in Nerf modifications product (Orange Mod Works, Trustfire's etc.) and this is their answer to that. they want to capture the money that people would spend on Modding their guns. my Alpha Trooper get get about 70 feet with Oragne Mod Works and it costs about 50 dollars with all the money i put into it. if these blaster are more than that i would just keep OMW kitting out my blasters. I believe that this line is either going to thrive of die and it all depends on that price point... we shall see...
ReplyDeleteHas anybody noticed that the the elite blasters have the same first two letters in their names as their regular n-strike versions? (REcon-REtaliator, RAider-RAmpage) I can't think of anything that the hail fire would match up to tho.
ReplyDeleteI think the Hail Fire is probably going to be a revamped Stampede. It's the only blaster that makes sense unless they're making a new one.
