Tactical Tag got the inside scoop on a surprise new Vortex blaster announced during a Hasbro presentation. Named the "Pyragon", it's featuring a very cool grey/white/red colour scheme which we just love; the unique pump action grip suggests slam fire (we can hope?!) and it the high capacity drum is looking very trick and apparently 40 rounds. I gotta tell you for mine, this looks amazing and i'm very keen on this one:)

Christ, they need to decide on a single color scheme for Vortex and stick with it. Cool gun, though
ReplyDeleteNews of it is arriving around the same time the Elite guns is; I would assume they're making new color schemes for all the new guns they're releasing.
DeleteHoly jeez! I gotta get me onna those!!!!
ReplyDeletethat is really cool looking, i wonder if the drum is 4 clips that rotate? i have no idea of how the drum works, anyone know??
ReplyDeleteCould you pls remove my above comment, i used the wrong address for my blog link and i dont want to look stupid. thanks.
ReplyDeleteThe clip size being 40 makes sense considering the 40 disk packs that are now for sale.
ReplyDeleteHopefully there is another conveniently placed screw post on this one like the Praxis so I can move the spring farther.
If you do remove Dylans first post, make sure to keep his second one so he still looks stupid, as he said nothing about removing it.
Two words...Holy...Crap....Haha, HvZ players are gonna love this thing!!!!!
ReplyDeletei like the color scheme. The drum looks absolutely hideous and bulky, but the fact that you have 4x the amount of ammo of a praxis, and 2x that of a vigilon, i would't doubt this could be the most powerful stock vortex to be used in battle. Im very interested in how the drum works, does it rotate or does it have a spring mechanism to push the discs up in a single-file manner? Doesn't look like there are batteries which is a huge plus imo and, if hasbro is smart at all, should have the ability to slam fire, since both the praxis and lumitron lack that.
ReplyDeleteNerf is using President Obama for product placement? I hope he knows about that... :P
ReplyDeleteAnyone notice the red vortex discs? I might have to pick one up.
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot, but nerf, come on you need new models of vortex guns, not "glow in the dark praxis" or "40 disc slam fire praxis"
ReplyDeleteYou know what all the vortex blasters look a like, some a little longer than the others, stop complaining saying "its just a repainted praxis" its not even out yet and people think they know what it is like they were there at the time of concept and production, geez man relax! This vortex blaster looks amazing btw, i will get one when its available and ill be happy with my 40 disc slam fire praxis look a like that dosent glow in the dark, but with cool red discs.
ReplyDeleteSlam fire seems unlikely. The Vortex blasters have all kinds of interlocks to stop you from dry firing and not holding the trigger down is part of that...
ReplyDeleteYa, but Name one time Nerf introduced a gun with a clip that size that wasn't full semi or slam fire.
ReplyDeletewhen does it come out
