It was just brought to my attention from malee_necromancer that streamline darts have different letters on the end of them, and they can affect the performance of the dart itself. Admittedly I got similar results using all three in my Alpha Trooper (K, A, T ) in that I missed 'Greg' with all of them, but I'm interested to hear anyone else's comments on this..(who knew darts could be so fascinating!)
Lol the suction darts have letters on them too. Underneath the suction thing =P
ReplyDeleteSorry double post.
ReplyDeleteI think it's just to do with when the darts were produced and any R&D that might've gone into them. Who knows?
Also I'm wondering on your price on the Alpha Trooper (Yes I hate you for making me want to buy one)
About 70 bucks AUS :((Our dollar took a hit)
ReplyDeleteOh wow. That's a big kick in the guts. I haven't worked lately from a freak touch footy accident so I'm a bit strapped for cash. I'll see if I can get one from Hong Kong haha.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that buddy.
All of my darts have a k on them with one exception, in witch this dart has no markings at all. My theory is that the letters show where the darts were made, like on the USA penny.
ReplyDeleteI know for a fact that the T ones come with the Alpha Trooper.
ReplyDeletei traded one of my modified darts to a friend of mine for a faded dart that he had, and the faded one had an 'E' on it! it came with his raider
ReplyDelete"E" came with my Stampede.
ReplyDeleteSo far I've got T, A, K, & E. So there's a few words I can send. NERF, can we have some more consonants please?
My suction tip darts say W1.
ReplyDeleteAll my stream liner darts say K...?
ReplyDeletethe probable reason behind this is the machines that make them and also to do with quality control
ReplyDeleteso that means darts with letter (x pick any letter in fact) if you get a large amount of darts that are faulty with that letter then they run that machine off and fix it.
also means the darts from that machine are used with this gun.
just remember the factories in china run 24/7
I have discovered through testing that "K" darts have terrible range, but "E" and "T" darts shoot MUCH Further... Also, "T" Darts have a lighter, less dense tip, versus "E" Darts, which have denser foam and a darker orange tip.
ReplyDelete"E" darts also appear to be slightly longer than either the "A" or "K" darts.
ReplyDeleteI've done some testing and "E" darts have crap range in my longshot, and are a bit random in my stampede (20 - 35 ft) and "T" darts go really far in both guns. Only buying t's now:)
ReplyDeleteMy friend's glow in the dark streamlines are nearly as tough as W1 whistlers and whistle when shot in my Jolt. They have a 'W' code and are REALLY dense.
DeleteWe've noticed that the W1 whistle darts shoot much better than the K whistle darts. The foam is more dense.
ReplyDeleteive got A, K and T. some have smaller letters printed on them with firmer rubber tips and these have less range than the others
ReplyDeleteI work in plastics. Those are most likely cavity labels. Small components like these are probably molded in multi-cavity molds, meaning that several tips are all molded at once. The letters can distinguish each of the cavities from each other. This way, if there is a quality issue, they know which cavity to work on.
ReplyDeleteI have J whistler darts
ReplyDeleteI just bought an alpha trooper and my brother has a recon. He has K darts and I have t. If I look into the back of the T dart, I can see a plastic cross which I think makes the dart heavier and more accurate. Also the foam is more dense. The K darts seem very light and squishy. I don't know about the other darts though.
ReplyDeletei find that if you roll a dart around in you hand for a bit it becomes sqiushy and doesn't shooty as far
ReplyDeleteI am aware that I am a bit late to the topic, but I thought that I should point out that 1st gen streamline darts have a larger air hole and no letter. I have not noticed any substantial difference in performance, as stock streamlines have terrible accuracy due to insufficient tip mass and air fouling about the hole in the tip.
