Gear Up N-Strike Series: Pic Spam

Gear up for.. tidying my living room. What a mess!

Nerf's upcoming Vortex line of disc shooters have prompted a new.. 'Gear Up' paint scheme for existing N-Strike blasters. Not sure what orange, black and light grey ave to do with gearing up, but I admit in person they are kind of pretty. There's not much I can really say about repaints of old blasters, so I'll just let the pic spam do the talking. Images after the jump.

Amazon Japan: images of the Gear Up series

Brought to our attention by 'Mr Racoon'- Some promo images of the upcoming Gear Up N-Strike line- the Recon CS-6 and the Maverick REV-6 on the Japanese Amazon. I am a lil' over the Maverick and Recon and personally think they should rotate the limited edition blaster lines (I mean seriously, HOW many Mavericks do you really want!) but at least there will be a Barricade and Raider as well.

Tornado Strike Mod: Sweeeeeet

The Super Soaker Tornado Strike is arguably one of the best looking blasters available, other than the fact it's kinda poxy performance wise and doesn't have a trigger. What it IS though is a very nice looking shell that can be used for other stuff; in this instance from Nerf Mods + Reviews, we've got a very sweet looking Tornado Strike that now fires clip system darts using parts from a Recon. I like.

Sonic Series now available in Australia!

Oh yes.. I couldn't resist..

Green with envy I was.. :P

A stroll past my local Toys R Us (Belconnen, ACT) had me spot the new Sonic Series on shelves. Lots of them. So far they've got Recons, Mavericks and Vulcans. Funnily enough, NO Deploys. Wonder what it is with Deploys and Australia:P

Vulcan EBF 25 for $89, Recon for $49.95. Sorta over priced, but it IS Toys R Us and given the fact it's exclusive.. I guess they can do what they want with the prices.

Sonic Series: in the hands of Nerf Mods + Reviews

Soo check it out, Jermaine from Nerf Mods + Reviews was lucky to get his hands on some of the Sonic Series... have a look see for more detail.

Sonic Series Recon CS-6. Spotted on shelf in TN. Thanks Dave!

As spotted by one of our Urban Taggers readers, Sonic Series are now appearing on shelves in the US. He sent through a pic of the above Recon CS-6 on shelf at his local Toys R Us. Looks pretty well priced too! Thanks for the intel, Dave!

Preview: Stampede mix and match

Recon CS-6 with some Stampede goodness.

Sooo.. as always I decided to muck about with mixing and matching the Stampede attachments with other blasters to see how they look.. I quite like them on the Recon:)

UPDATED: Co-ordinate! Nerf N-Strike attachment mix + match

Barricade with Shot Blast attachments. because..I can. :)

Here is where you'll find pictures of various N-Strike blasters with different attachment configurations, as requested by readers. I'll keep it updated as they come in.. please do be patient, but I will do my best to get to requests as soon as I can.

Review: Nerf N-Strike Clear Series

Invisible! Ok not quite..

Nerf's "clear the way for 9-9-10" campaign has involved releasing some of the current N-Strike blasters (The Recon CS-6. Raider CS-35, Nite Finder EX-3, Maverick REV-6 and Deploy CS-6)  range in translucent clear shells.  These are allegedly limited edition versions which may or may not be discontinued soon, but for now they're hugely popular and allowed for Nerf to get another bite of the blaster apple- people (including myself) were willing to go out and purchase another version of the same blaster:) Were there any differences to these five blasters other than looking different?

Preview: Alternate colour Recon CS-6

Clear + Red Recon CS-6. Same Same but different:)

The Recon is a bit like a supermodel, it looks awesome, is slim and sexy and appears very versatile but inside, there's not a whole lot of depth. That being said, who turns down a supermodel? And therefore in the world of apartment close -contact- role- play- guys- jumping- around- like- idiots (and poor expression!), what could be better? I'll tell you what. Alternate colour schemes (or lack of).

Review: Nerf N-Strike Recon CS-6

Nerf N-Strike Recon CS-6. Ultimate poser rifle

The Nerf N-Strike Recon CS-6 would have to be one of the more infamous guns of the N-Strike range. Both loved and hated at the same time, it was considered to be awesome in concept but pretty poor in performance.

Personally, I was quite looking forward to the Recon CS-6: it was the first customisable blaster that came with a magazine style clip system for bullets, introducing the new Streamline foam dart. The other big selling point was the "build your own blaster" sales pitch- coming with a detachable barrel, stock, 'tactical' light and aiming sight. Whooooo hoooo I thought.. sounded pretty cool...
