Police Blaster from The Fifth Element |
B-grade sci fi flicks may use repainted Nerf blasters as their props of choice, but bigger budget flicks tend to bring in their own specialised prop designers for their weapons. That being said, how cool would it be if some of these bad boys got the Nerf treatment?:) You can call me a "fanboy" all you want, but fellow blaster lovers, you can't deny it's the cool movie prop blasters that get our imaginative juices going:)
Soo.. here's our gallery of some of the coolest looking blasters in movie history; which one's your favourite blaster? (and do let me know if I've missed any)

ReplyDeleteDouble Whammy
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you left out the Zorg Industries ZF-1 (from the Fifth Element).
ReplyDelete"Voila, the ZF-1. It's light; handle's adjustable for easy carrying; good for righties and lefties; breaks down into four parts; undetectable by X-ray; ideal for quick discreet interventions. A word on firepower. Titanium recharger; 3000-round clip with bursts of 3 to 300. With the replay button, another Zorg invention, it's even easier. One shot... and replay sends every following shot to the same location. And to finish the job, all the Zorg oldies but goldies. Rocket launcher... arrow launcher with exploding or poisonous gas heads, very practical... our famous net launcher... the always-efficient flamethrower, my favorite... and for the grand finale, the all-new 'Ice-cube System'."

Woot! Judge Dredd's blaster all the way - that movie was epic!
ReplyDeleteDistrict 9 blasters!
ReplyDeleteWhat, no love for Mal Reynolds pistol in Firefly? That's what I'd love to see. In fact, that's one of the reason's I like the Barrel Break IX-2 so much, it has a similar style, albeit double barreled.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, its Han Solo's blaster pistol for me from the list.
i love the pulse rifle and i am in the middle of a project making one out of nerf blasters, second would be the zorg industries zf-1
ReplyDeleteGlad Thorn covered the ZF-1 along with the entire intro to the weapons. For a video version of what Thorn mentioned... Voila!

ReplyDeletethe longshot could be made into The Morita pulse rifle from Starship Troopers
ReplyDeletefrom here is the big baby but from other choices, the golden gun
ReplyDeleteYa know, you forgot one very cool weapon. This weapon actually existed, and was an experimental gun for the US military before being cancelled around 2005. It's called the XM8. Don't believe me? Look it up. It's real, and it's awesome.
ReplyDeleteSomeone already gave the Stormtrooper E-11 blaster the nerf treatment - http://nerfhaven.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18084
ReplyDeleteIt has to be the Morita Pulse Rifle for me though
I would always say Boba any day, but how can you not love big baby? :-)
ReplyDeleteHero Hammerli gun from "Assassin/Point of No Return" that's just a custom Olympic target shooting pistol I've seen several that look very similar
ReplyDeleteHow about StarTrek's(Mordern StarTrek. Not the original one) Mr.Spock's blaster? And that whoever-is-that-young-guy. I mean, flipping barrels to change from stun to kill. You gotta admit thats cool.
ReplyDeleteOh and I forgot!!! The Agent's of Secret Stuff, Aden's blaster.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thats a fabulously funny movie by Nigahiga.

Insert here the sidearm from the original Battlestar Galactica.
ReplyDeleteV Laser Pistols
ReplyDeleteThe original Battlestar Glactica blasters rocked.
ReplyDeleteYou forgot the blasters from "Logans Run"
ReplyDeleteEven hi-budget productions dont built their blasters from scarp...
ReplyDeleteDrakes and Vasques smart gun is based on the german machine gun MG-42, Han Solos blaster is a Mauser C-96 Pistol with parts of an airplane assembly set, etc, etc...
Either the pulse rifle from Aliens or the Auto-9 from Robocop. but if you mentioned video games in here as well then the Halo Assault rifle would be my favorite!
