The awkward moment when Time to Play showcases the Quick 16..

Time To Play is a website/blog that reviews toys. And while I'm sure they mean well.. I just find their vids cringe worthy. This vid details the Quick 16 as all "man powered".. the best part is when he starts firing.. Fire.. fire..

Random: My favourite Dart Tag dude

Charlie was definitely a lover, not a fighter.
Of all the Dart Tag promo images, this one is DEFINITELY my favourite. Of all the blasters in the Dart Tag 2011 range, the Quick 16 is one the LEAST likely to be used single handed. His Ray Charles-style happy expression while gazing up into the clouds, taking three, soon to be four darts in quick succession to the chest and making NO attempt to dodge (Swarmfire is quick..but not that quick!) is gold.

It just shows you don't have to be any good at shooting to enjoy Nerf. Even though he royally sucks, will forever be known as the only guy in the promo who ever got shot (not just once but four times), didn't fight back and probably just cost his team the match, he doesn't care. He's still. JUST. LOVING IT.

This guy just wins. Awesomeness.

Quick 16 unboxing vid + Confirmation of the 'Sharp Shot"

Ben 'Psyk' Koh,one of our readers and the dude partly responsible for the very cool Barricade Clip Mod (with SG Nerf)  has managed to get his hands on a Quick 16 in box and has been awesome enough to post a video on it.

He's also confirmed in the video that from the back of the box, the new single shot pistol will be called the "Sharp Shot". Thanks Ben for the intel!

More on the Dart Tag '6' vs the Quick 16- more oomph?

Yes, this man knows Nerf wars. Nice hat dude. :P
I invited Neil from the Canberra + Southern NSW Dart Tag crew (they really need a shorter name!) to Urban Taggers headquarters (ie my apartment) to test out the new Dart Tag Quick 16 and the '6'.  I'd already reported that we found the '6' to be more powerful than the Quick 16 but being mechanically a goober I had no real idea WHY this was so. Neil however managed to shed some light on this:

"Having tested both the blasters I noticed straight away the Quick6 had more 'punch'. On closer examination I found it was purely due to the fact the 'guts' (i.e. the working parts) of the gun are in the front third of the blaster, and when cocked the dart is chambered right in the front of the blaster, thus cutting down the distance it travels internally.
"The Quick 16 chambers the dart in approximately the middle of the blaster where the magazine is. So whilst the Quick6 might look like a Recon, the layout of the internals is completely different."

Yes. What he said:)

Update: The Quick 16 AND the '6' are a 16 round and 6 round blaster respectively; PLUS one in the chamber. Useful to know, but the fact you can quickly reload on the fly does mean you don't have to worry about running out easily.

Test: Nerf Dart Tag Quick 16 test fire

Neil from the Canberra + Southern NSW Dart Tag crew popped in today to give the new to be released Nerf Dart Tag Quick 16 a run. Here's a quick vid showing you how it in action.

Review: Nerf Dart Tag Quick 16- we got one:)

There she is folks. Nerf Dart Tag Quick 16. She's you beaut and a bag of chips.
Lo and behold, we've managed to score ourselves a working unit of the new Quick 16, just in time for the New Year:) Told you we'd hit 2011 with a bang:)

The Quick 16 is one of the new upcoming Dart Tag blasters scheduled to be released sometime in 2011. Our test unit came complete with darts and manual which suggests this blaster is not far off from making it into stores. It's a 16 round capacity blaster that takes its cues from the Nerf N-Strike Raider CS-35  both in form and functionality, but with an in built ammo storage 'clip'.

So how good is it really? From our tests.. it's AWESOME. (warning- picture intensive post- apologies for those with slower connections. We'll post the images on our Facebook page as well)

Rumours: Streamline Darts a no go for the Quick 16

Very scientific of us:)
Just in: our intel confirms the Quick 16, the latest of the new Dart Tag blasters is not compatible with Clip System streamline darts. Apparently if your lucky, the dart will dribble out of your Quick 16.. and if not, it'll just get stuck in the chamber.

I have no doubt all you modders out there can work something out in future; you're a smart lot:)

Rumours: Quick 16 Intel: The official.. manual! :)

Pages 1 + 2 of the Quick 16 manual. All you need to know. Sort of.
Well, you asked for it and we at Urban Taggers deliver! Ok.. so we got more intel on the new 'Quick 16' Dart Tag blaster in the shape of the official.. blaster manual:) Eric has managed to send thru scans which shows how the Quick 16 works. More importantly, the manual confirms 1) It's definitely called the "Quick 16"..in ENGLISH. 2) The darts load into the top slot as we've all speculated, and 3) Dart Tag shirts! More pages after the jump:)
